The Music Cities Awards are presented by Saxony - State of the Arts. This is a global competition designed to acknowledge and reward the most outstanding applications of music for economic, social, environmental and cultural development in cities and places all around the world.
As the announcement of the nominees (on August 3rd) and the awards ceremony (October 18th as part of the Huntsville Music Cities Convention) are getting closer, we're excited to share the amazing and inspiring group of applicants for each of the contest categories.

MDLBEAST (Saudi Arabia): MDLBEAST is a leading global music entertainment company based in Saudi Arabia, dedicated to showcasing both established and emerging local, regional, and international talent. MDLBEAST creates innovative live entertainment experiences, events, music, and venues to connect audiences with top musicians and artists from around the world, and revolutionise the music and entertainment scene throughout the MENA region and around the globe.
Safe Gigs Ireland (Ireland): Safe Gigs Ireland is an initiative to make gigs and nightlife safer, for everyone. We strive to eliminate discrimination and sexual violence in night time economies by creating a zero-tolerance environment for all forms of violence an unacceptable behaviours.
Night Time Economy Solutions (Great Britain): Night Time Economy Solutions is a team of night time economy experts, we're passionate about working with Businesses, Local Authorities, Business Improvement Districts, and Police Forces to create innovative, safer, and more inclusive nights out. Their expertise includes: NTE cultural and business strategies, women's safety charters and strategies, NTE audits, training relating to the night-time economy, bespoke night time economy research and grant writing.
Bogotá 24 Hours (Colombia): The Secretariat of Economic Development at Bogotá Mayor's Office is the local entity that leads the formulation, management and execution of economic development, competitiveness and rural economy policies, aimed at promoting and strengthening companies and entrepreneurs, food supply and the promotion of employment and new income for citizens in the Bogotá -Region. Bogotá 24 Hours is a strategy that promotes productive and cultural activity during unconventional hours as part of the actions aimed at reactivating the economy in Bogotá and the international positioning of the city.
24HourNation (U.S.A.): 24HourNation is a news and information source that focuses on the nighttime potential for our towns and cities. They also discover and share intriguing things to see, do or savour at night in America, especially music venues, music festivals and music concerts.
Sexual Assault Center - Safe Bar Program (U.S.A.): Sexual Assault Center's mission is to provide healing for children, adults and families affected by sexual assault and to end sexual violence through counseling, education and advocacy. The Safe Bar program specifically aims to create safer and more inclusive environments in alcohol-serving establishments, so people can enjoy a night out safely.
YCK Laneways Presents (Australia): Centred around York, Clarence, and Kent (YCK) Streets in the north western corridor of the Sydney CBD, the YCK Laneways Association represents Sydney's premier destination for boutique hospitality, nightlife and retail experiences. The Association advocates for businesses who call YCK home by supporting its evolving community with business development and growth programs, applying for government grant and corporate sponsorship opportunities, and organising cultural activities to attract local and new customers to the precinct.
24HourDallas Good Neighbor Initiative (U.S.A.): 24HourDallas is a non-profit, membership-based organisation whose mission is to make Dallas, Texas, USA safer, more inclusive, and more economically and culturally vibrant at night. They represent nearly 100 members, including businesses, associations, and individual advocates, and more than 20 local partners. The “Good Neighbor” Initiative is a comprehensive, community-based program that aims to create safer nights out for all.
